DOE Announces Funding to Develop and Administer the Wave Energy Converter (WEC) Prize

oceanThe Energy Department today announced $6.5 million available to develop a new competition that challenges companies, universities, and individuals to improve the performance and lower the cost of energy produced by wave energy converter (WEC) devices. The funding opportunity, titled “Administration of the Wave Energy Converter Prize,” seeks an organization to develop and administer the WEC Prize. Once launched, the competition will help attract innovative ideas across this emerging industry. The Energy Department will conduct an informational webinar on Monday, March 24, to give applicants a chance to ask questions about the FOA process in general. Register now.
