Going the Distance

August 12, 2014

Oregon Wave Energy Trust (OWET) has released the program for the ninth annual Ocean Renewable Energy Conference. Going the Distance is the theme of this event that will take place September 24-25, 2014 at the Leftbank Annex in Portland, Oregon.

OWET, with its partner organization, the Northwest National Marine Renewable Energy Center (NNMREC), has an international reputation for championing creative policies and initiatives, new technologies, and programs that emphasize streamlining conditions to getting projects in the water. These credentials, along with Oregon’s natural advantages, have positioned the state as a global leader in the drive to commercialize ocean renewable energy.

Building a new industry is hard work. It takes vision, creativity and staying the course. The Ocean Renewable Energy Conference, now in its ninth year, is the gathering place for world leaders deeply committed to moving this industry forward. This year the conference will focus on assessing where the industry is today and what it will take to go the distance.
